in kids' charity trek

new heights for Martin

CMS Enviro Systems Communications and IT Manager Martin McCrimmon, has taken time out of his day job to successfully complete a 6-day trek through the mountains of Nepal, to raise £3300 for the Yorkhill Children's Foundation. This charity supports the work of the Yorkhill NHS Trust which treats 150,000 children every year from across Scotland at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Glasgow.

His fundraising week started with a 24-hour journey from Glasgow to Kathmandu via London and Delhi, then onto Pokhara in the foothills of the Himalayas. After a spot of very successful white water rafting, he got into the serious business with the challenging 6-day trek through the Annapurna mountain range in 90 degree heat.

Martin said: "This trek truly was an experience of a lifetime. The hard physical work was well worth the effort thanks to the stunning mountain scenery, fantastic fellow trekkers and warm reception by local people."

The money raised through Martin's Nepal trek will help Yorkhill Children's Foundation provide funding for extra medical equipment, improvements in child and family facilities and extra services which make a stay in hospital less distressing for children and their families.

If you'd like to add to Martin's fundraising efforts thereÕs still time Ð you can contribute at www.justgiving.co.uk/martin-mccrimmon.
