Secured by Design

Secured by Design (SBD) is owned by the Association of Chief Police Offices for England, Wales and Northern Ireland (ACPO) and ACPO Scotland. Local police Architectural Liaison Officers (ALOs) provide design advice and issue SBD awards and licensing rights to companies in the construction industry based on fulfilment and testing of the following criteria:

• Applying design-against-crime principles to the built environment
• Addressing crime through technology, design and planning
• Identifying technologies and meeting tests and evaluations that indicate resistance to criminal attack

CMS are delighted to be the first company in Scotland to officially offer SBD certified Senior Architectural Systems products. The SPW600 casement window and SPW300 window range including Pivot, Tilt/turn, Casement and Reversible windows have all been fully tested and comply with procedures BS7950 and BS 6375 (Parts 1, 2 & 3). Additionally the SFG/SD Inward and Outward opening doors also officially licensed Secured by Design products.
