MSPs in factory visit to CMS Enviro Systems

CMS Enviro Systems opened its doors this week to a site visit from Jamie Hepburn MSP and Linda Fabiani MSP for Central Scotland.

The visit came after both MSPs lodged motions in Scottish Parliament commending CMS on their recent environmental awards success. CMS Enviro Systems were awarded the VIBES (Vision in Business for the Environment) in November 2009 for 'Best Management' medium category which was followed in February with the 'Best Green Business' award at the Lanarkshire Business Excellence awards. The MSPs were impressed with the companies' track record at demonstrating economic viability through environmentally friendly products and practices and wanted to see for themselves how the company has successfully managed to secure business for the next 4 years.

Jamie Hepburn MSP said, "I was delighted to be able to visit CMS Enviro Systems this week to see for myself the hard work which goes on behind the scenes at their Cumbernauld base. Their success, particularly in their innovative efforts at maximising recycling, is excellent news for Cumbernauld and the surrounding area.

'It is through successful businesses like CMS bucking the trend that we can ensure Cumbernauld holds its own in the midst of economic meltdown, particularly when further cuts may well be on the way following the UK election. If businesses like CMS are able to thrive, our local economy is given a welcome boost, and our local communities directly benefit.
